EPPEI’s Industrial Partner: Eskom

Eskom’s core technical business is based on the generation, transition and distribution of electricity as well as the construction of new plants. Eskom is the powerhouse of the South African economy and maintains and operates 23 power stations with an installed gross capacity of over 44GW.  It develops, owns and operates an integrated power transmission network spread across South Africa delivering power to final customers and local municipalities. This transmission network is interconnected with neighbouring countries.

Eskom is the largest producer of electricity in Africa, generating approximately 95% of the electricity usage in South Africa. It is among the Top 7 utilities in the world in terms of capacity.
